Demri was a fashion icon in the Seattle Grunge scene. She wore vintage costumes, long skirts with docs, lots of vintage style 30′s and 40′s jewelry. She loved creating decopage with 30′s and 40′s vintage style images cut outs from wrapping paper or old greeting cards. She would wear overalls 2 sizes too big for her with rolled up with docs and maybe a vintage blouse. Vintage coats with her long tangled hair. She wore patchouli and lavender oils. She would wear Black or red lipstick and she always used red lipstick for blush instead of powder blush. She would wear stuff no one back then was even thinking of. This was the hair band era and she seriously had a part in changing that look into what we think of as the grunge look today. Anyone remember the early 90′s photo spread in Vogue called “Heroin Chic” well I remember thinking to myself.. “Wow..they’ve ripped off Dem’s style!” And being upset that they had called it Heroin chic. So lame. She was unique and a one and only. She will be forever remembered and loved by me and her many friends and family. People were always drawn to Demri.. she had a magnetic way about her that attracted people. She was also hilarious and had a beautiful smile and laugh. Also people may not be able to tell in her pictures but she was super tiny.. maybe 5 feet tall if not 4’11 and maybe 90 pounds. She had an adorable figure with a bubble butt and cute little hands and feet but you’d never call her cute girl.. she was truly a Gorgeous woman.
